Today was the latest big day. Ariana made her 11th major surgery trip to the operating room and we hope this will be one of the last times. Nina was at the hospital bright and early this morning at 6:30am to make sure Ari saw a loving face before her big day. Nina said that Ariana was alert and looked kind of curious why there were so many people around and why her bed started rolling.
As mentioned before Dr. Foker flew in for this procedure and to help Dr. Jennings. Ariana’s vitals were good through out the surgery but they did have to give her albumin and a blood transfusion again due to normal blood loss during a major procedure like this. Most importantly they cleaned out the infected area and they were able to reconnect her esophagus!!! The next steps are that she will be under paralytics again for 2 weeks and then they will do an esophogram to check for any leaks. Mom/Grandma Steadman said she knows this will work this time and she’s usually right so we’re sticking with that prediction.
Ella and I drove home to Portland after a great long weekend with my parents and time spent with my brother, his wife and their 4 legged child (Niko the Boston Terrier). During the drive through the Gorge I looked out the side window and saw a beautiful rainbow, not less than a minute afterwards Nina called me with the good news that she was connected. I thought that was very fitting and hopefully a sign.
Thank you for your prayers and positive thinking for our little warrior.

So proud of you Warrior Princess for weathering this latest storm. The rainbow was definitely a sign from above. It is a promise of hope, a miracle has occurred and it is the end of a storm.
Hi Matt,
I am very happy to hear that they were able to connect her esophagus and that your Warrior Princess is staying strong. Our prayers are with you.
