Our New Home

This is the outside of the house we're staying at in Boston.  It's a beautiful house and we'll post some of the inside photos later.  Brookline is a very upscale neighborhood with beautiful homes and also the birthplace and boyhood home of John F. Kennedy

A few people have asked for the address:

Yawkey Family Inn
c/o Nina Steadman
241 Kent Street
Brookline, MA 02446

We have very limited refrigerator and freezer space so any goodies would have to be ok at room temperature.  Also, unfortunately the house doesn’t allow alcohol so I can’t keep any cold beers handy.

There’s not much we need at this time as Ella has many toy, books, and clothes here and we’ll have to bring everything back when we get done.  The only things we could think of would be gift cards from Starbucks, Peets Coffee, or Trader Joes.

A little history on the house:
The "Chateauesque style" house was built on a 31,606-square-foot parcel of land in 1889 by Andrew Houghton, the original owner of the A. J. Houghton Company and the Vienna Brewery in Roxbury and Jamaica Plain, MA.

Most recently, it was a frat house for Phi Gamma Pi and was renovated in 2008 and opened in 2009 for families that are visiting CHB.  It houses up to 22 families and is only .6 miles from the hospital.

The staff here are great and you meet families from all over the world that are very positive given the circumstances where they have small loved ones facing some huge challenges.

Thanks everybody for the support.
