We’ve been getting behind on a few postings so we’ll get you up to speed in the next several days but we’ll start from 12/26/11
After a somewhat rough day after surgery Ariana has settled in with just the occasional upset spells when they tighten her sutures or take X rays. She is on heavy doses of pain medicine so we plan to meet with her "team" to find out more about the long term effects and the game plan going forward.
Ella had a great Christmas, she has hit the doll stage, she received one that she named Ruby that she likes to push around in a stroller. We think it’ll be good practice for when Ari finally makes it home, we would just prefer Ella not to drag Ari around by the neck. Of course Grandma brought Ella a pretty dress, some cute boots and Blue Clues DVD.
Nina also donated a wonderful present to the local breast milk bank. She was able to give over 700 ounces of “liquid gold”. This milk will be given to babies in need around 9 different New England Hospitals. Nina has been very dedicated to this cause and has worked very hard on making sure Ariana will receive the "good" stuff when she can eat.
More pictures and posts about the great time we had with Grandma Steadman in town.

Thanks for posting an update! I sure would love to see Ella pushing "RUBY" in her stroller, she will have lots of practice so that she can help you guys out when you get back to Portland! I am sure that you all will miss Steph, so glad that she got to spend Christmas with you. Looking forward to seeing some more pics! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to all of you. Hope Ariana is resting comfortably and not in any pain. So glad Ella got a doll. Stephanie told me it was an American Girl Doll. They are very popular around here. Is her real name Ruby or is it the Bitty Baby Doll? They have a huge American Girl Store in Chicago. The dolls are made in Wisconsin. As the girls get older you could invest in the Historic Dolls. They are beautiful, but more for age 8 and older. Thanks for keeping us posted on your news of the week. Hugs to you all.
