Grandmas are a special type of people. They love their grandchildren even in a different way than their parents. Grandma Stephanie was kind enough to spend her entire winter break with us here in Boston. She was such a big help to us during her time here and Ella was so excited since it has been longer than normal since we’ve seen her. Grandma Steadman was able to visit Ariana and see the hospital that is taking such good care of our little warrior. She also got to know all the families that were staying at the Yawkey Inn even more than we do. The staff at the Yawkey also thought she was pretty great.
Nina and I were able to do a few things that we normally can’t do. We were both able to visit Ari and spend time with her at the same time. We also had great time that was made possible by several people. First of all, Grandma happily watched Ella and did the early wake up calls that we normally have. In addition to that, our good friend Tony hooked us up with a stay at a nice hotel for the best sleep we’ve had in the longest time. To top it off, our friends Mike and Tracey made it possible to enjoy a nice dinner. We finally tried some of the Northeast seafood that we’ve heard so much about. Nina and I had great conversations and were able to recharge our batteries and talk about the upcoming changes we have in store. We also got to see a familiar face. Naomi, one of our Portland neighborhood friends, came out to visit. We briefly saw some of the Boston sights together.
Ariana continues be the warrior princess that we love so much and she is getting closer to being connected. They have been able to stop the Ketamine and reduced another pain medicine that she is on.
It was so very special to have Stephanie (mom, MIL, grandma) here for Christmas. We apologize for taking her away from Dennis but we really appreciate you sharing her!
We love you Grandma Steadman!!!!
