Time keeps on slipping into the future

Time keeps passing.  We've seen nurses go on maternity leave and come back.  Our primary night nurse is going on her second vacation since we've been here.  We don't know how long we'll be here.

The procedure last night took longer than expected.  They found things they were not expecting to find.  Long story short, her big blood vessels are occluded or blocked.  There are 4 main veins in her upper area and 3 are blocked. She has many collateral veins that are doing the job.  They had to take out her PICC line and place a stent to keep the subclavian vein open.  they don't know what caused the blockage but are guessing the IV lines played a part.

Her perfusion is good and she looks good.

Oh Baby Girl, you are going to make us all very knowledgeable with all these medical terms that your Mom gives us in your blogs! I have learned now where the subclavian vein is, what collateral veins are and also what perfusion means. Hang tough little one and keep getting stronger so you can your Mom can go home.
